A few things you might want to know.
Getting started
Who is Explain8 for?
We create explanation videos for small businesses, service providers, and D2C brands. Tell us what you offer, who you want to reach, and what they should understand before taking the next step.
What do I need to provide?
Your website, logo, available brand guidance, and answers to the project brief. Product photos, screenshots, and footage are helpful when available. An accurate product demonstration may require supplied images or footage.
Can you help me decide what to explain?
Yes. Request a free assessment of one public page. We’ll recommend a message, length, placement, and package.
Do you write the script?
Yes. We create one script direction using your brief and approved source information. One consolidated script feedback pass is included before you approve production.
Can I provide my own script?
Yes. We’ll check it against the package length and agreed objective. Tell us which wording must remain unchanged. The package price still covers the production process and included deliverables.
Length, layouts, and style
Which length should I choose?
Choose 60–90 seconds for a focused introduction, up to two minutes for a fuller explanation, or over two and up to five minutes for a more involved topic. We recommend the shortest length that answers the customer’s important questions.
Do I get a short video and a long video?
Each package includes one video at the selected length, in horizontal and vertical layouts. A separate short edit or independently structured video needs an additional scope.
Are both layouts included?
Yes. You receive a horizontal 16:9 version and a vertical 9:16 version. We adapt text, framing, and graphics for each layout.
What visual styles are included?
Standard production can combine motion graphics, screen captures, supplied photos or footage, stock assets, and selected AI-generated scenes. Bespoke 3D, complex character animation, and live filming need a quote.
Can you work without existing footage?
Often, yes. We can build an explanation using graphics, screenshots, stock assets, and generated scenes. We’ll identify any product-specific visuals that need accurate source material.
Voiceover and language
Is the voiceover AI-generated?
Yes. High-quality AI voiceover is included. You approve a voice sample and important pronunciations before production.
Can I choose an accent or tone?
Yes. Choose from the available voices or ask us to recommend one. We confirm the selection through a sample rather than assuming every accent is available.
How does localization work?
Approve the original master, select supported languages, and approve translated scripts. We then produce translated voiceover, subtitles, and editable on-screen text in both layouts. Read about localization.
How much does another language cost?
For videos up to two minutes, one additional language is $29 and three are $69. For videos over two and up to five minutes, one is $59 and three are $149. These are add-ons to the same approved master. Language availability is confirmed per request, and no language list is published yet.
Does localization include native-language review?
Standard localization includes automated language checks and production QA. You or your nominated reviewer approve the translation. Independent native-language or specialist review is available by quote.
Delivery and revisions
What does “2–3 business days” mean?
It is the first-video-draft production window: the first draft is ready within 2–3 business days after approval of the script, voice, and visual direction and receipt of all required assets. The window is counted in business days. Script preparation, your review time, and final revisions are additional. Your portal shows the confirmed dates.
See Delivery and revisions for the full policy.
How many revisions are included?
One consolidated script feedback pass before production and one consolidated video revision round afterward. The video revision stays within the approved concept. We correct our production errors separately without using that revision allowance.
What can I change in the video revision?
Typical changes include pacing, colors, text corrections, pronunciation, and adjustments to a small number of existing scenes. A different product, new script direction, or substantial new footage may change the scope.
How do I submit feedback?
Add timecoded comments in your portal, review feedback from your team, and submit one combined list. Draft comments are not sent until you submit the round.
Can I change the script after approving it?
Tell us what needs to change. We’ll confirm whether the request fits the current scope or requires an additional charge and revised date before proceeding.
Can I pay for more revisions or guidance?
Yes. Extra video revision rounds cost $39 for videos up to two minutes or $79 for longer videos up to five minutes. Guided collaboration is $149 and includes a kickoff call, storyboard checkpoint, and one extra video revision.
Files, rights, and performance
What files will I receive?
1080p horizontal and vertical MP4s in clean and captioned versions, SRT subtitle files, the final transcript, cover images, and a one-page placement guide. Any added languages have their own final files.
Can I use the video in paid advertising?
Our standard final-video license is intended to cover your business’s website, organic social, and paid digital campaigns, subject to third-party asset restrictions disclosed with your order. Tell us about broadcast, resale, or other uses before ordering. See Licensing.
Do I receive editable source files?
Final exports are included. Editable production files are quoted separately when available and transferable. Some licensed or generated components cannot be transferred as standalone assets.
Will the video increase my conversion rate?
We build around your customer objective, but no particular increase is guaranteed. Results depend on the offer, traffic, placement, and other factors. Placement advice is included, and a performance review is available when suitable data exists.
Can you review my results after launch?
Yes. A $99 performance review covers one page, one objective, and one dataset you provide. You receive written observations and suggested next tests. Data setup, implementation, and ongoing reporting are separate.
Payment and support
Can I order online today?
Online payment is not open yet. We switch checkout on only after our seller details and policies are finalized, so no payment is taken today.
You can request a free assessment of one public page or request a quote in the meantime.
Is this a subscription?
No. Standard packages and add-ons are one-time purchases. You approve additional charges before extra work starts.
Are taxes included?
The website shows package prices in USD. Applicable taxes and the full amount payable are shown before payment.
Can I cancel or request a refund?
Contact us through your project or support as soon as possible. The cancellation schedule and any applicable customer rights shown before payment govern your order. See Refunds and cancellations.
How do I contact you during production?
Use your project messages so feedback, approvals, and files stay together. You can also use our contact page.
Still have a question?
Send us your question and we’ll reply within two business days.
